after a spell gone wrong causes a quantum flux in the space time continuum, which results in past and present timelines being merged together, Harry Potter and his friends are greeted by the younger version of Newt Scamander, the author of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, and his allies. harry and newt offer to learn about each other while trying to figure out a way to reverse the merge, but before that could happen, they were given a task by Dumbledore to stop Alistair Merlin, the brother of the ancient wizard from before Hogwarts' time, from exposing the wizarding world to the muggle world as he believes it is a way of making peace with both worlds.
